The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), or Ordo Initiationis Christianae Adultorum (OICA) is a process developed by the Catholic Church for prospective converts to Catholicism who are above the age of infant baptism. Candidates are gradually introduced to aspects of Catholic beliefs and practices.
For those who join an RCIA process it is a period of reflection, prayer, instruction, discernment, and formation. There is no set timetable and those who join the process are encouraged to go at their own pace, taking as much time as they need.
Those who enter the process are expected to begin attending Mass on Sunday's, participate in regular faith formation activities, and become increasingly involved in the activities of their local parish.
If you, or someone you know, is interested in becoming Catholic, in full communion with the Church, please call the rectory to speak with Fr. Dennis at 845-252-6681.
